Hello, my name is Thor Eriksson and I am a long distance runner! I am always working toward my dream to compete in cross country and track at the collegiate level, specifically, distance events in track and cross country. I am a client of Run CCG who are my coaches during the off season. They create my strategic training program and race plans. I am very serious about running in college. I love to run! It is a hobby and passion that continues to grow as I get older. Most of my conversations with family, friends, and fellow runners focus on ways to improve my running skills and the newest techniques. Each time I race, I show improvement. With the help of Run CCG and my relentless work ethic, my senior year seasons will showcase my talent.
Self motivation is my key to success in sports and life. In school, work hard to earn my Advance Placement (AP) credits and strong Grade Point Average (GPA). At home, In practice and at home, I work hard daily to increase my strength and speed. My regiment consists of runs or alternate cardio events, weight training, floor exercises, and core work. My free time is spent reading professional running magazines, following collegiate and professional racers online training sites, devouring distance coaches running books, and tweaking my technique by conducting the best drills. I want the opportunity to showcase my strong work ethic and prove my true value as a distance runner and team mate with your program.
I am entering my senior year but will not turn 17 years old until December 2020. I was advanced academically from fourth to fifth grade, therefore I am physically one year behind my peers. The positive is that I am still growing, becoming stronger and faster well into my collegiate years. I hope that prospective schools view my race and running times keeping that in mind; I will only get faster when running for your team.
I am a member of a military family. My mother is an officer in the US Army. We have traveled and lived in many different states and countries while I have grown up. My upbringing created strong ethics and personal strength within me. I also have become very good at coming into a team environment and adjusting easily to their methods. My ideal college or university will not be determined by its distance to my home but its strength academically and athletically.
