Cooper Schaad '24 Recruiting Profile

For my collegiate career I look forward to furthering my academics through study of aviation science as professional pilot as well as continuing to pursue athletics as a pole vaulter.  I am looking for a competitive school and team that will help me grow and improve in both areas.
I started pole vaulting in 7th grade, and finished 3rd in the state. We did not have a season my 8th grade year, but worked in the off season before my freshman year, to achieve a 1st place finish for my division at the Expo Explosion (13‘10“) and ended that year with a 9th place (14‘0”) at the state meet. As a sophomore I hit a personal best of 15’6.25”, and placed 3rd at our state meet.  As a junior I won Top Times (Indoor State) for Illinois division II, then in outdoor went on to break my school record with a PR of 4.92M. I ended the year 3rd in our state series and 11th at the NB Nationals meet.

I am a very focused and coachable athlete that will always help contribute to my team’s success, and look forward to talking to schools where I might be a good fit.
