I fell in love with track shortly after running in my first middle school meet. After my first win, I was completely hooked, and I knew I wanted more. When I transitioned to varsity track in my freshman year, my love for the sport intensified when my older teammates welcomed me with open arms and showed me what it takes to be a champion. Now in my junior year, as a captain, I've been given the opportunity to help bring the next class along. That has truly been one of the most intensely gratifying feelings I have ever experienced.
As far as my goals for college, I want to compete in track at the highest level I can while continuing to be a strong student. As a runner, I thrive under pressure and do everything I can on and off the track to maximize my potential. In addition, I am constantly hungry to be better than I was the race before. Even when I win championships or break records, my first thought is: what could I have done differently to get a faster time?
