I attend a small private school in Long Island, NY and would like to continue my education at an academically challenging college or university. My school has a limited athletic program. The cross country team is still in the process of being developed and there is no track and field team. Despite this, our school teams have a lot of heart, and I have successfully led my cross country team as captain to a second place finish in the 2020 PSAA Cross Country Championship (Private School Athletic Association league). I am the first student at my school aspiring to run cross country and track & field in college. This makes my passion to run even stronger. I am self-driven, highly motivated and understand the value and privilege of an education and the responsibility to give back to others. Just recently, due to school closures, I have had the opportunity to begin 1-on-1 training with an experienced high school cross country and track and field coach. We have been training together since April 15, 2020 and here are some of my in season highlights and recent time trial efforts:
. 2020 PSAA League Championship, November 5, 2020 (1st place) 2.53 miles 13:49
. Great Neck South High School Time Trial, May 26th, 2020 1600m 4:34
. Manhasset High School Time Trial, July 2, 2020 800 m 1.59
. Locust Valley High School Time Trial July 24, 2020 400m 53. 84
In addition to running, I represent my school on the squash, lacrosse and golf varsity teams. Volunteering is also important to me, and I volunteer as a coach and mentor to young students at the local Boys and Girls Club and also assist with their homework . I am in two extra-curricular school clubs-- Model UN and Business Club. I am the assistant treasurer in Model UN. My parents encourage and inspire me to be the best person I can be. As a family, we focus on honor, respect for others, and working hard. I am eager to reach my potential as a student-athlete and work towards shared goals with a cross country and track & field teams at college. I look forward to the opportunity of a structured schedule, training with fellow students under the guidance of a coach.
