I attend a small school in NYC, in a sea of many great athletes I always had a push to develop my skills. At home running was looked at as a hobby and I was told all the time that if I wanted to continue doing it I would need to excel in my classes, this threat carried me to not only put in work on the track but to spend hours studying for classes, making sure I was always prepared for the next meet as well as the next test. Because I go to a small school with less than 150 students in my grade the track program is not as expansive as I would’ve liked, events I am interested in such as hurdles and triple jump simply aren’t offered at the meets we attend. My relay team was the first team my school had ever sent to compete at the NYRR Millrose Games as well as the NB nationals track meet. I am highly motivated and pride myself on my ability to work towards the goals I set for myself.
In addition to running. I dedicate my time to music and community service. I’ve been playing trumpet since 3rd grade and I have played in a plethora of bands, I enjoy both classical and jazz music and have played in the highest level bands that my school offers. Secondly, I spend a lot of my time helping out my community. In school, I was the treasurer of the community service club. Outside of school, I help volunteer with The Reading Team, an organization dedicated to improving literacy among disadvantaged youth, and I am going to be the national head of social action for Young Judaea, an organization dedicated to developing Jewish youth. Continuing running in college I am looking forward to being a part of a team, having a good coach, and improving all of my numbers.
