Brandon Fried '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Brandon. I am a 6'1 Junior going into senior year. I run Cross Country and Track for Smithtown High School West, in New York. Some of my greatest accomplishments are coming in 20th place in the Bob Pratt Invitational at Sunken Meadow, with a time of 21:28. My official 5k Pr is 20:08 on a flat course. Another good race for me was my Sophomore year when I ran 18:06 at the Manhattan invitational at Van Cortland. Now my 4K Pr has improved to 16:17. I am really hoping to make some huge improvements during my Senior season. I have been extremely committed during the past 3 years but the times never came. My fastest mile time as of now is just 5:36 which just motivates me even more. I am hungry to improve and become a better runner. I have really put in the work my entire high school career so far but especially this summer leading into Cross Country season. I think that something that really separates myself from others is my commitment to not only the sport and my teammates but other activities. Running in college is a big dream for me because I really can not see my life without being involved in running. I know that I only have so much time to improve in High School so getting an extension to be able to compete is my goal. This summer I am not looked at as a serious contender for a top spot on my team because I have never been a top runner on the team but I can only reach that goal once so I am doing everything this summer to compete at my best during Cross Country. I would really love to run in college because my live is so heavily involved in running that I couldn't see my life any other way.
