As a junior in high school, I am really starting my recruitment process of searching for colleges to run at. I am looking to run cross country competitively at the collegiate level. I began running cross country in my sophomore year, and have begun to take it seriously ever since. Having my freshman year taken away due to COVID made me begin my cross country career in 2021 . In my junior year of running I have won a multiple conference meets as well as placing very well in invitationals with extremely better times. I battled hip injuries in both hips which limited the amount of training and practice I could do throughout the season and dealt with the flu as well as appendicitis in the sectional meet. Although I didn’t have everything going my way throughout the season, I battled adversity and still managed to greatly improve. I have improved my times over the past year immensely and am continuously working to become better. During my sophomore season, my personal best time was 18:32 at the RFA Bill Coughlin Invitational and was able to shave almost a minute and a half off of this time with a personal best of 17:07 this season. When I say I have taken training and working hard in the off-season seriously, it is no joke. I had been continuously training in the off-season to ensure that I can achieve many goals this past season of running cross country. Headed into the sectional meet this season I began to feel under the weather, but still gave it my best shot at racing. The illness heavily affected me during the meet which was later found out to be appendicitis requiring surgery a few days later as well as the flu. I knew I still had given it my best effort to finish at all costs. I am a very hard working and dedicated person to running as well as school and other sports and am aiming to do the same at the collegiate level. Along with cross country, I play four other sports; soccer, golf, basketball, and outdoor track. I am always putting forth my best effort in school with my average being a 99.17, knowing my work in school is beyond important. I have received numerous academic achievements because of giving my best effort in the classroom. With my passion, dedication, work-ethic, diligence, perseverance, and my focus, it will make me a perfect fit for your team!
