I started in my freshman year of high school as the slowest kid on the team. I couldn’t even run a full 5k. Over the years I trained hard and saw steady, linear improvement. I ran my first sub 20 5k early summer going into junior year and brought it down to 18:04 by the end of junior cross country. During the winter I got it down to 17:16 and since the covid-19 outbreak I kept training and I got my time down to 16:41. I believe I have the discipline and patience needed to be a successful long distance runner. I average around 50 miles a week now with 13-17 mile long runs. Running is my passion and I really want to keep improving in college.
