Swimming has been a huge part of my life. Ever since I decided I wanted to start swimming when I turned 9, I fell in love with the sport instantly. I have experienced success and setbacks, and would not be the person I am today without them. Every day since I jumped into the water for my first practice, swimming has been nothing but an exciting challenge. The challenges of working tirelessly for just a second drop or to just get close to a personal best have given me the opportunity to appreciate the few breakout moments and to trust the process of the inevitable ups and downs swimming has to offer. The challenges I have embraced have helped me grow as a person by driving me to become a role model, a team player, and most of all a fierce competitor. These obstacles have not only helped me grow but have motivated me to get better and better every day with the goal to compete at the collegiate level. I believe I have the ability to make not only a positive impact on your program but to bring the team together as we are all fighting for one common goal: fast and competitive swimming. I have been able to meet many academic achievements by applying the same intensity and time management required in swimming and look forward to continued success in both.
