Ever since I picked up running in my freshmen year indoor track it has been one of the most positive life changing decisions I have ever made as an individual. I am bestfriends with the greatest group of teammates anyone could ask for, my coaches have pushed me through the confusion, tears, sweat, and have taught me patience that I never thought I could gain. I am a team runner because without my team I know that I wouldn't be where I am today. If I were to pinpoint what sets me aside from other athletes at my level I would have to say my leadership, I set examples for my teammates on and off the track, I have had get togethers at my house for all of the guys on my team before big races. I answer every question to the best of my ability for every teammate whether it is about getting a pace down, race tips, certain stretches, or concerns off the track I offer a hand to always help. I am beyond excited to see what running has to offer me in the future and as much as I hate to leave my teammates next year I cannot wait to learn and grow with new ones in college, I really look foward to the 10k in college if a coach allows me to. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
