As a upcoming athlete in the track and field world, I had one main goal. That was to qualify for the National meet, and compete next to some of the best in the nation. During my sophomore season, I was able to push myself and increase my potential on the track. I was motivated partly because this would be the last season with some of my closest friends, but ultimately because my goals appeared attainable for the first time since I began running in middle school. I also knew that if I wanted to race alongside the seniors, that I would have to practice harder then the previous years. After completing my goal of making it to the New Balance National Championships, I realized the love I had for competing at big meets and running with the best of the best.
That experience only made me realize that I'm going to have to keep pushing to increase my abilities to make it back their next year. I feel prepared for the upcoming academic and athletic challenges. I will continue building up my GPA to make my transcript look as best I can. I wish to become the best student-athlete I could be. I am a very determined athlete, and it would be a great accomplishment to join the track and field program at a collegiate level, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships with my team!
