Collegiate Goals & Aspirations:
I have worked very hard to ensure that I have accomplished all the necessary academic courses required to allow myself the option of attending any division within NCAA or NAIA. I have achieved a 2.4 GPA (2.6 Weighted GPA) however this score would have been higher if i did not challenge myself with some very difficult course such as: Functions & Applications and Mathematics of Data Management, which were not my strong suit. You can see from my transcript that I do excel in other area such as: Kinesiology, Information & Communications, History and Health & Active Living. I have a strong aptitude for business and I intend to become a very successful entrepreneur upon completing my undergraduate degree.
Versatility:
You will be very pleased with my athleticism and my ability to contribute to your team in track, field and multiple relay events, I am not afraid to try new things. I trust my coach to guide me and understand my strength and weaknesses. I also understand that progress takes time and I have the patience and dedication to make it happen.
Strength and Agility:
Although I may not be heavy, I do have good strength for may weight. I can currently bench press nearly twice my weight and squat 2 times my weight. I feel like there is lots of room for improvements as far as strength is concerned. My coach is now implementing several strengthening exercises to improve my explosiveness out of the blocks and into my drive phase. When we analyse my races, improving my starts will help cut my time down significantly.
Determination:
I am a goals oriented individual so therefore, I will stay the course until my goals are achieved.
Background:
My track and field involvement started at a young age of 6 years old where I began running long and middle-distance events. Even at a young age I was very competitive and always pushed myself every time I stepped on the track. I continued running middle distance and participating in taekwondo until the 9th grade. During my freshman year of high school, I decided to try sprinting. I achieved success in my first attempts and went on to run a personal best (pb) of 11.3 in the 100m, In grade 9 I qualified for Canadian Nationals and ran 36.5 in the 300m and placed 5th in the country then assisted my relay team to set the Ontario provincial record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 43.84. I continued to compete in my grade 10 year however there was a strike during the outdoor season in my school district thus I was unable to compete. I also run the 400m and have a pb of 51.93. My 200m pb is currently at 22.49 and 100m at 10.99. My 60m Indoor pb is currently 7.13 and 200m Outdoor is 22.37 All of those set last outdoor season and indoor season. Currently I am at Port Credit Secondary School and am looking for a school to attend this fall. I am also preparing to write my SAT March 10th and again May 05th .
My goals coming into college pertain narrowing my career path down as I have a lot of various interests and love to work in areas that I am passionate about. In terms of athletics I want to continue to learn how to sprint better, I am fairly new to these events and still have a lot to learn and develop. Overall I'm looking for a place to expand myself and reach my maximum potential both athletically and academically.
Please let me know if there is a place on your roster as I love to compete and I would love to become one of your biggest assets.
