Kobi Valchar '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Kobi Valchar; I am currently a Senior and attend Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hallettsville, Tx. I was born on September 14, 2004 in Victoria, Tx. I am currently 6'3" and 230 LBS. My Primary focus is discus but I also throw shot put as well.  I started throwing in 7th grade (winning every meet) as I knew very little about the sport at that point. As I watched my older sister throw, I developed an interest for the sport. I fell in love with the sport and stuck with it. My size and strength has been a great asset to me. I have never received proper coaching because I go to a small school that does not have a throwing coach. Everything I know is from watching YouTube videos and watching professional athletes throw. Currently I am consistently throwing the discus 155+ with much room to improve with the proper guidance.

I am very coachable and quiet, I respect everyone around me. Throughout my many years as a multisport athlete, I have always tried to keep a healthy balance between academics (taking AP and Honors classes), family responsibilities at home, working a part time job all while working hard to become the best version of myself on and off the field.

 I would love to major in Civil Engineering and earn my bachelors degree to get a rewarding job to support myself and what my future years may hold. I would like to finish off by stating to coaches that I am a hard worker and I will do what it takes to make it to the next level.
