I am a Junior at Sotomayor High School in San Antonio, Texas. I run the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 4x400m. My main goal is to run track at the collegiate level for a school that I can make a positive impact on. From a young age, I have been raised never to give up and always to try to get better. I started running track at 8 and made it to the finals at Texas A&M. I truly got into track at the age of 11 when I made it to the Junior Olympics for the 800m. I have been a varsity athlete since freshman year and have made it to the regional finals every year. Also, I am a varsity basketball player as well, and that has taught me how to go through the pain and that being in pain during a race is a mental thing. Since running track, I have learned that the most important part is the mental part. Ever since then I have been focusing on being mentally tough and continuing to push even when it hurts. Academically I have A’s and B’s while taking advanced courses such as AP Physics and On-Ramps US History.
