My name is Sam Jolin and I am a Junior at Middleton High School, I also play for Madison Inferno Volleyball Club. I started playing in 7th grade and I have become extremely passionate about volleyball since then. Through both high school and club, I have been fortunate to play with committed teammates and outstanding coaches. Because of this, I have grown as a player, person, and leader throughout my volleyball journey.
My primary position is setter, and this has been the case since I started in volleyball. Being a setter very much fits both my skillset and the mental aspects that are involved in volleyball. I have embraced the pressure that goes along with being a setter without receiving much of the glory. This completely fits my personality as I enjoy being the quarterback on the floor and the commitment to the success of the team, instead of myself, is most important to me. It was an honor for me to be named captain of my Madison Inferno U16 team this year and I have used this role to lead the team both on and off the court.
It would be an honor for me to play college volleyball post-high school. I am an extremely hard worker, both at practice and on my own, and I believe my dedication, focus, and commitment will offer me the opportunity to grow as a player. I am excited about my growth to date, but I also realize I have so much to learn as a player and leader. Most importantly, I love the game, and this passion fuels my desire to be a great player. I am looking for a school that has a strong, motivational culture that challenges and supports its student-athletes both as a player and as a person.
