When I took a tour of Strake Jesuit in eighth grade, and the water polo players were in the pool in 36 degree weather, I knew I wanted to play. It was the first time I had seen water polo. I learned the sport, played JV two years, my sophomore year at starting goalie. Last summer I played club ball with WHWP to learn the position of set. I was 6'3", and I thought it would be valuable to learn other positions. I am now 6;8", and I start on Varsity at set, but I rotate into wing and occasionally filled in at goal. I've learned to use my height to my advantage, I have a good shot, and I am good at working the offense. I love the sport, and I want to continue to play in college.
I'm a strong academic student, making either President's Honor Roll or Honor Roll every semester at a challenging college preparatory school, My favorite class so far has been Physics, but any math class comes in a close second. I plan to pursue a degree in engineering and probably come back to Texas to work in the oil and gas industry.
I'm hoping to play for a team that values a high GPA and that works as a team in the pool and in the school. I know I'm from Texas and that I am relatively new to the sport, but I play hard.
