Personal Statement

I'm currently entering my senior year of high school. I am dual enrolled completing high school while attending University of Alaska, Anchorage and getting college credits. I ended my junior year with 24 college credits.

I am born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. When I was 4 years old I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In 2017 I was selected as Alaska's Children's Congress Delegate for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). In June of that year I went to Washington, D.C. and talked about the importance of funding for diabetes research with all three of Alaska's members of Congress.

I try to be active by giving back to my community, I have volunteered for spring clean up, Special Olympics, high school football concessions, and American Diabetes Association-Tour de Cure. Other volunteer opportunities include: JBER(military base) Real Property office, Partner's Club(through high school), Anchorage Youth Court, field clean up at various Little League clubs in Anchorage and Eagle River, and as a teacher’s aide at Chinook Elementary School. In my free time I like to bake, watch movies, spend time with my friends and family, go fishing, and relax.

I started playing softball at the age of 5, when I was in tee-ball, moving up to coaches pitch, minors and majors for my local team. This is currently my 8th season playing travel ball. I play softball because I love the game. I love that there is so many components to a successful team. You need a team to win. You can’t do it by yourself.

My college goals are to go to a college that allows me to play softball and take the courses I need to take to succeed in the medical field to become an anesthesiologist.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
