I can't imagine my life without softball. Not just because I have been playing since I was seven but, without softball I wouldn't feel complete. There isn't a feeling that can compare to the sound of the catcher's glove when it snaps, the feeling of the bat when you hit the sweet spot, the joy of striking out a batter right when your team needs it. It's impossible to describe the exact feeling I have on the mound, but it gives me confidence, it makes me feel like I can do anything.
I also have experience at second base and outfield. I have strong leadership qualities. I am a member of my high school leadership group. During my school years I have organized and overseen many school functions, pep rallies, various volunteer functions, dances, assemblies and fundraisers. Some of my strongest softball assets are my drop ball, change up, strong accurate overhand throw( 61+ mph) and work ethic. I feel I have great ball sense on the diamond. I easily adapt to new environments and situations. I have been told I'm a very coachable, hard working athlete with a great, competitive attitude. Having the opportunity to continue playing/learning softball as a student/athlete as I earn my degree would truly be a dream come true. I am also interested in coaching softball after college. I would love to be able to give back to my sport.
During college I plan on majoring in business or economics. I am open to any size school and location. I am looking for a school with a strong academic background and a coach who will push me to be my best.
This past year my team (Calgary Kaizen 97) won silver at the Canadian U16 National Softball championships. I had a personal best of 14 strikeouts in one 5 inning game and had 7 RBI'S in the playoff round. My team only gave up 5 runs all tournament, only losing in the gold medal game. I am very proud of this accomplishment. I strive to be the best I can be, at everything I do and work hard to accomplish this in the classroom, on the diamond and in all facets of my life.
July 2014, my team Calgary Kaizen 97 won gold at the Alberta Provincial Championships as a first year midget team. We attended the U18 Canadian National Championships in Saskatoon, SK. I was named player of the day striking out 10 with no earned runs in 5 innings and going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and coming home with the winning run. against SK 1.
Sept 2014. I have been selected as one of the top 14 softball players in Alberta to represent my province in the Western Canadian Summer Games in Fort McMurray, AB, August 2015.
