Hello Coaches! My name is Emme Souter and I am from Cumming, GA. I will be a 2023 graduate of South Forsyth High School and I am a new member of the Atlanta Vipers Palazzo 18U team. My primary position is 3rd base, but I spent all of the 2020-2021 travel season playing short. I am also adept at playing outfield.
My collegiate goals are to attend a college that satisfies my educational needs and where I can continue to play my favorite sport. My current career aspirations are to be an athletic trainer or physical therapist. As most athletes, I have had PT over the years and appreciate the great work physical therapists do to get their patients back to being healthy and active. I am looking for a college that has Exercise Science, Pre-PT or other science/medical majors that can prepare me for my graduate studies to become a therapist or trainer.
In regards to offense, I hit both for power and for average. For the 2020 high school season, I was named to the first team for All-Region and All-County, with these stats: BA: .460 OBP: .481 SLG: .529 OPS: .994. For the 2020 - 2021 travel season, my stats were: BA: .400 OBP: .438 SLG: .607 OPS: 1.045 RBI: 30 HR: 6. You can visit my YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjbndnyWOLxsQZogMbvng9g or here on my NCSA site to see highlights of of my play.
For the second year in a row, I was named to the All-Region and All-County First Teams for the Fall 2021 high school softball season. It is truly an honor to be recognized amongst many hard-working and talented players. We are in a strong region and county and I am proud of this accomplishment and recognition.
I have become a solid 3rd baseman. In my videos, there are several clips of how I attack the ball and throw with strength and accuracy. I can also throw from my knees and make back-handed plays and I am adept at fielding bunts. There are several good fielding plays in my video collection.
What sets me aside from other players is my work ethic and ability and willingness to take and use feedback. I hit 6 - 7 days per week and work on self-correcting when necessary. Even in the off-season, my dad and I go to the park to hit a few buckets of balls and/or work on fielding and of course, I work with my hitting coach each week. My coaches say I am extremely coachable and that I take and use feedback well. I listen and respond to my coaches with respect and and good manners. I stay positive and help my teammates stay pumped up, even when things are not going as well as we would like.
One college coach I met at a camp told me he liked me because I am an overall good athlete. He liked how I worked hard at hitting and fielding and how I always run onto and off-of the field between half innings. I was able to show him my base running skills as well as my fielding reactions. My hitting philosophy is to hit hard line drives. I once heard my favorite baseball player, Freddie Freeman, say that he doesn't practice with hitting homerooms--he works to hit line drives. That is what I practice and try to do at each at bat.
I hope you review my profile and consider me a candidate for your program. I am excited about going to college, meeting new friends and playing the game I Iove.
