Isabel Bates '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old. My love for the game has only increased throughout the years, creating a passion that I hope to continue for my entire life. I aspire to play collegiate-level softball and hope to experience the amazing expertise and community a collegiate softball program will provide me. I strive to learn and grow as a player and I know that college softball is the next step in my journey. 

As a defensive player, I can make quick decisions, always thinking ahead to the next play. When it comes to the game of softball, I am mentally strong every time I step onto the field. This attribute has helped me become the successful player I am today. I am a very coachable athlete, using critiques and suggestions from coaches to better myself and my team. I step into leadership roles whenever possible and put my best effort into every game and practice.

I work hard year-round, playing club softball along with high school softball. During the offseason, I do workouts and private lessons to continuously improve my softball skills. I have earned multiple MVP awards from numerous teams and try my best to be a role model athlete. 

Academically, I carry a full AP and honors course load, all while maintaining a 4.5 cumulative GPA. I am a part of NHS (National Honors Society), and Civitas (Social Studies Honors Society), and this year I will be inducted into NEHS (National English Honors Society) along with SNHS (Science National Honors Society). Adding on to that, I participate in volleyball and marching band at my high school. 

I am looking forward to finding a college where I can push myself academically and athletically. I hope to find a softball program that is competitive and successful, where I can grow into the best player and person I can become.
