The sound of metal cleats hitting the cement. The feeling of the soft dirt when you slide. The hustle you have when you pass that chalk line. These are the reasons why I love the game. The loud cheers, the perfectly messy braids, and the feeling of a perfect hit. These are the reasons why I love softball. I love the rush of a really good play and how I would do anything to move or score that runner when I'm up to bat. I love the feeling I get when it's a close ball game, as it makes me fight even more. When I play, it makes me feel alive as I am very passionate for the game.
My love for the game is so much more than just playing. I love how it has helped me become the person I am today with the help of team bonding, leadership, communication and respect for my coaches, teammates, fans and of course my opponents.
With my devotion, I plan to continue my education while playing the game I love in college to pursue a degree in Dentistry and form another softball family.
