Katelynn Miller '15 Recruiting Profile

          Ever since I can remember I wanted to play softball. When I was five years old I was struck in the face by a homerun ball hit by my dad. That’s when it “hit me” that I wanted to play softball.

       My name is Katelynn Miller and I am a 2015 graduate. I am 5'5, and 160 lbs. My primary position is catching but I'm also a utility player.  I am the varsity catcher for the Waynesville Tigers, 3 years running. I'm also the captain and starting catcher for my travel team, Mid-Mo Evolution. I strive to do my best on and off the field. My ultimate goal is to continue playing softball at the next level.  I am currently ranked 17 out of 374 in my class and my GPA stands at a 3.97. I try to get involved with as many extracurricular activities as I can. I’m involved in Student government as the All- school Historian, DECA, NHS, and S2S. I want to major in Education for my love of children.

    Softball is not just a sport to me. It’s my outlet, the one thing I can go do that takes my mind off the stress’s in my world. Everything I do involves a lot of work. I was never one of those people who could just show up and ace the test. I’ve always had to give it my all to achieve my goals. Being a “Military Brat” I’ve had to move around and adjust to my surroundings. Therefore, I’m extremely excited to get on the road to my next big move…
