Hello! My name is Emily Pietrzykowski, and I have been playing softball for nearly 10 years. Softball has been a huge part of my life, and has shaped me into the person and athlete I am today. I have dedicated countless hours to improving my skills in order to become the best player I can possibly be. My hard-work, dedication, and perseverance has helped me excel both on and off the field; however, my teammates and coaches who have helped me reach my goals deserve all the credit they can get as for have been a huge part of my career.
One thing that sets me apart from other players is my accountability. I make softball my priority even if I do not have too; I understand the importance of putting in the extra work and effort into game/skills. I hold myself accountable for attending every practice whether it is mandatory or not, putting in the work outside of practice, maintaining my overall health, and applying advice given to me; I am willing to do do everything it takes to improve. On the other side of softball, I find it extremely important to be a reliable and accountable teammate. As a teammate and player, you can always count on me to supportive, up-beat, and loud in the dugout. Whether we are on or off the field, I am always there to support my teammates and I would run through a brick wall to help the people around me.
In addition, my confidence, discipline, and focus are all attributes I can bring to the field. I have learned these skills over my years involved in sports, and they have helped me preform and succeed at a high level. I am not afraid to challenge my self and go outside of my comfort zone because I understand that growth is not a linear path. We must have setbacks in order to learn and continue developing; that is why my discipline and focus are key components of my work ethic. Everyday I am striving to improve and make adjustments to my game so I can become a better player than I was the day before.
Off the field, I am also a very dedicate and passionate student. I take pride in my academics and strive to give every class the best of my abilities; consequently, I have became a very proactive student who efficiently managers her time to fit academics, studying, athletics, and family into one scheduled. This year I am currently enrolled in 3 AP classes to challenge and develop my academic skills. In addition, I am involved in many extracurricular activities to help improve the environment of my school and community.
My dedication to becoming a well-rounded individual has given me so many opportunities in my life. My accountability, positive attitude, perseverance, and discipline have helped me achieve so many milestones on and off the field. And as I continue to grow as a individual and softball player, I am beyond excited to see where my academic and athletic career will take me in the future.
