Hello! My name is Loghan Nowak and Softball has been my passion since 3rd grade. I started playing softball in 3rd grade and played for my town's youth league and I played on that for about 3 years. After I was too old to play in the youth leagues I played on a summer travel team for a year when I decided I didn't want to play anymore. I stopped playing Softball for around 3 years until my 8th-grade year when I decided I wanted to start playing again. I started on modified softball and I jumped right in. I was unsure of where I wanted my playing position to be and I was playing all over the field But then I found where I really belonged on the field, Center field. After being placed in center that's where I realized I belonged. Centerfield opened so many new opportunities for me on the field. I struggled with my hitting a lot during my modified year. I barely hit and when I did it was a poorly hit ball and not what I wanted for myself. After that season I ended with the highest fielding average and team MVP. But I was still not happy with how I was hitting. Over the winter I was paired with a hitting coach where I basically started all over with my hitting. I spent 3 days a week, 2 hours a day with my hitting coach over the winter all winter long. Until I was finally confident in my swing. before I knew it Softball was right around the corner. Before the season started I spent every second I could with the varsity team indoors practicing so I could make the team. I was asked to go down to Myrtle Beach and play with them in a week-long tournament at Ripken. That was a great experience for me and I learned so much from that and took a lot from it. After the tournament, it was softball time. it was game time at home. Unfortunately, I didn't make varsity that year in 9th grade and it really got to me but also gave me, even more, motivation to work even harder to make that team. I started my JV season as 3rd in the lineup and starting centerfielder. I was very committed to the team and making the environment enjoyable for everyone as well as attending all the varsity practices when I could for extra practice. I was placed as team captain that year. I was EXCELLING in my hitting and doing extremely well in the outfield as well. I was extremely proud of how I was doing that season. I was getting hit after hit. And then I was asked to be pulled up to varsity. It was a major change for me but i was ready for it. all my hard work was starting to pay off. No, I wasn't a starter for varsity nor did I play alot but i was still up there putting in work and took every opportunity i had when i got to play. Untill my 10th grade year where i was playing in every game getting to show off my skills and all my hard work. I had an amazing season i was placed on all Star 2 team for section 5. im a great teammate and ready to work hard.
