Hello, my name is Yaniris Brioso and I have a very unique softball journey unlike many you have probably heard before. In January of 2020, as a Freshman in high school, I made the decision to try-out for Varsity softball with having little prior experience. The coach took an immediate interest in me and complimented me for being one of the only freshman trying out and the strength in my arm. I then became the only freshman on the schools Varsity team being the youngest player as-well. Throughout the pre-season I put softball as one of my main priorities making sure I was on time to every practice and putting in as much effort while taking the feedback that I got from my teammates and the coach. As the season approached I was still working hard and it payed for as I was a starter playing Left Field. However, due to COVID-19, we were unable to have a full season and only played one game. Currently as a Senior I completed a 15 week program in NYU for Future Filmmakers and have an average of a 3.8 GPA. Im also graduating a year earlier than my original date.
