Challenges to me are one of the best things in life. I love facing them because I love proving to myself and everyone that I can do anything I set my mind to. I am a natural born leader, not someone who bosses others around, but someone who leads by example. I plan to be very successful with whatever I decide to do in life. I want to go to college and find my niche. I will give all my effort in and out of the classroom as I do now. In my freshman year of high school I never realized how important my grades were. If there's anything I could do over it would be that year. Luckily, before sophomore year I realized what I needed to do. I finished my sophomore and junior years of high school with a 96 overall average both years. Softball is my passion and I will do whatever it takes to help my team win. I respond well to coaching, always support my coach's decisions, and am willing to adapt. I believe my best characteristic as a softball player is explained through what one of my coaches once said about me. Tim O'Gorman has coached softball for many years. I was ecstatic when he called me to let me know I made his team. I knew about him and that he'd seen me play a few times, but did not know him personally at that point. The very next day I was not there, but he told my Dad the biggest reason he chose me for his team was because, "If I asked Alyssa to run through that brick wall over there, I know she'd do it." That was and will always be the best compliment I have ever received.
