Katie White '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katie White and I am a Senior at Jamesville DeWitt High School in Jamesville, NY. I started my softball career when I was in second grade and my passion for the game has  grown to the point that I would like to play at the collegiate level. I am interested in STEM fields, with mechanical engineering and chemistry on the top of my list. Playing softball in college is important to me, however academics will be my first priority. 

I have and will continue to challenge myself academically by taking Honors and AP courses. In fact, I have a total of six college engineering credits as a freshman and sophomore. Both years I was a starter on our Varsity softball team, catching and playing third base and I was named to the SCAC Empire Softball All League 1st Team. My sophomore season, our team repeated as league and sectional champions and I was also named to the SCAC All Empire Division 1st Team. Both seasons, I was also recognized as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete with a 97/100 GPA.

My passion for softball comes from the teamwork and leadership needed to be successful. The sport has not only given me athletic opportunities, but has also taught me to be strong mentally and to appreciate the unique contributions of my teammates. Softball is much more than a game to me. It is about friendship, being challenged, and the support being given and received by everyone on the team.
