Personal Statement

I am a senior ranked in the top of my class for my academic performance and on track to graduate with an Advanced New York State Regents Diploma in 2022.  I have played competitive softball on a travel team since I was 9 years old.  I am a power hitting short-stop with a batting average of .510, an OBP of .667, and have been responsible for more than 30% of the runs scored on my teams. The last six years I have been the best player on my travel and varsity teams leading my teams and the division in multiple stats every year with the highest batting average, most RBIs, most hits, most homeruns, most runs scored, most extra base hits, and most stolen bases.  I work hard to develop my softball skills year-round which includes lifting weights, plyometrics, HIIT, and running.  As a junior I was named First Team All Star and led my team in all stats and to a sectional title.  As a freshman I was chosen for the New York State All-State Team, NYS Section V Class D All-Star, and NYS Section V Class D All-Tournament Team.  I was chosen to be on the Under Armor/Softball Factory Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team and New York State Team after being invited to play in their Christmas showcase in Vero Beach, FL. I was selected for the UA/Softball Factory All-American Academic Team. I am used to playing at a competitive level and excel in high pressure games.  I played with my travel team in the NSA Softball World Series in Buffalo, NY in 2018, in the U14 tournament in Orrville, Ohio in 2019, and lead my varsity team to the 2019 and 2021 Sectional Championship titles.

I play shortstop, third base, and second base, but I can play anywhere on the field.  I pride myself in being coached by a variety of different coaches including my Dad, a high-level baseball player, who had an opportunity to play in the major leagues.  I too am an athlete and in addition to being a three year varsity All Star/starter in softball, I am an All Star basketball and soccer player where I made 43 three-point shots and was the leading soccer goal scorer with 21 goals leading my teams to the sectional finals in 2019 .  In July 2021 I was chosen the MVP in a NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase game.  I am a leader on and off the field.

When I am not playing sports, I enjoy woodworking, building things, and photography.

My goals are to go to a college that has excellent academics and play college softball.
