My name is Gabby Bonilla and I am from Dobbs Ferry, New York and I attend the Harvey School in Katonah, New York. I am a softball player, but not only am I a softball player but I am a softball fan. I have traveled to different states to watch professional and collegiate softball, as well as attend many different camps. As a Utility player who also pitches I know many different aspects of softball. My most recent accomplishments include being chosen to play in the August Alliance Stars of Tomorrow Games in Rosemont, Illinois with the chance to work with Athletes Unlimited. In the Spring of 2023 I was invited to the USA High Performance Event in Vero Beach, Florida in November 2023. In High School, I expanded my knowledge of sports by playing Varsity Volleyball and running on the Indoor Track and Field team. I have played Varsity Softball since 7th Grade was the starting pitcher, when not pitching I would start at shortstop. This past year my school did not have enough people to field a softball team, so I trained with the varsity baseball team and helped Head Coach, ex MLB player Luis Lopez, as student manager.
I am confident in my capability of playing softball at the next level in college. Since I was very little I was filled with passion for the game as a New York Yankees fan and going to games as a toddler. What makes my connection to softball even stronger is that it’s a passion that has put many amazing friends, people, coaches opportunities, and life lessons into my life.
I see everyday as a new opportunity to get stronger and expand my skills and knowledge to help continue to increase my performance. This passion helps me push myself to be the hardest working person on the field.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are very open. I mainly am looking at the eastern states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, the Carolinas, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas) but I would be thrilled to get the chance to play anywhere. I hope to find a college that fits me best and feels like home. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Finance or Real Estate. Ultimately it would be a dream come true to play softball on the collegiate level while studying my other passions. My goal is to help the program that selects me win games and leave an impact on the game in whatever way I can, and I will always go all out for the game.
