Hi! I’m Layla, I’m 17 and ready to embark on this journey of college softball! Ever since I was 5 years old, softball has been my #1. At 11, I began my travel softball career with Lady Diamond Pros, and am now continuing that career with Empire Fastpitch. Throughout my high school career, I was the starter 1st baseman my freshman year, and now as a senior I am the starting pitcher. All I ever want is to get on the field and be the best I can be, softball is what I take the most pride in and have the most fun doing. I am 5’8, 185 lbs. and primarily am a left handed pitcher with 1B as my secondary. Being left handed, I always felt like the odd man out throughout my childhood, but softball made me realize how lucky and fortunate I am to be naturally left handed. As an only child, softball takes a major role in my personality traits, allowing me to flourish in a team environment leading me to become the social butterfly I am today. As an aspiring recruit with a 3.0 gpa, I would love to use my skills to my advantage in finding the perfect school for me from both academic and athletic aspects.
