My name is Reanna Perkins and I’m currently beginning my Senior year at Royalton Hartland Central School District where I maintain a 93% cumulative (4.0) academic average and play multiple sports for the school. I’m very interested in attending college to pursue a degree in Biology in addition to playing softball after I graduate in 2022.
I started playing travel softball when I turned 8 and am currently the starting shortstop for the Amherst Lightning 18U and Lou Gehrig 16U travel organizations. I usually bat 1st through 4th in the lineup and will pitch when I am not playing a middle infield position. I am regularly invited by other teams to play in tournaments, and in most cases, it is at the older level. I’ve been awarded honors as an MVP several times in multiple tournaments for my skills at shortstop / pitching along with my accomplishments at the plate. I was an 8th grade starter for our High School Varsity Softball team and was named to the honorable mention team twice. This year, I was awarded Niagara Orleans Player of the Year and was a 1st team all league recipient. I also broke the school record for the highest number of strike outs in a season. I recently scored number 12 in the top 100 East Leader Board.
I’m well known for my power in hitting and my high quality fielding work as well as my work ethic, leadership, communication skills and overall knowledge of the game. I enjoy contributing to the team as a leader and always do my best to help out my teammates anyway I can. I will play where my coach needs me!
Over the past few years, during the off season I typically work 5-7 days a week on my skills. Outside of practice, I work with my father, Gerry Perkins a Niagara University D1 scholarship player, and Florida Marlins Baseball MLB draftee on my hitting. I train with Joe Catalano, for my pitching skills as well as the mental aspects of the game. Additionally, I train at Absolute Performance with Hannah Zimmerman once / twice a week to improve my strength, speed, and agility.
My dream is to have the experience to play softball at the collegiate level for a mid to large size university where I can earn my degree in Biology and further that into the medical field. While I have a very high focus on the academic aspect of college, I feel that my work ethic, natural athletic ability, willingness to be coached would be an asset to any team.
