"Don't hope for it more than you work for it," was a quote used by my varsity softball coach throughout the past season. The team used it as our motto to lead us to victory in the New York State Class AA Championship - the first in Orchard Park High School history.
Not only do I find the quote applicable on the field, but I also in my academics. I work hard and always put forth my personal best. I encourage others to do the same. Whether it's the championship game on a hot Saturday in June, the morning of a big exam or an especially challenging practice, you will hear and see my supporting my teammates and friends.
I pride myself on preparing well for what is ahead. I take great care in my academics and athletics. As a member of the varsity softball and basketball as well as the JV volleyball team in a large Class AA school, being astute and organized has greatly contributed to my academic success. I challenge myself by taking honors and AP courses. I opt out of my lunch to take a second foreign language, Latin.
I currently play for the New York Diamond Girls, formerly the New Era Diamond Girls. I am on the 16U team and played this past Fall/Winter season on the Gold showcase team. We played in 5 tournaments including Rising Stars in Fort Lauderdale and the D9 Sun Classic in Orlando. In addition to the Diamond Girls teams, I also had the honor of playing with the TC Tremors in the early Fall.
I am excited for the challenges that lie ahead and look forward to stretching outside my comfort zone to make my dreams of playing at the next level a reality.
