I've grown to believe that if you put in hard work you will reap the results. I have internalized this idea with everything I pursue, whether it is academics, clubs, or sports. I have hardly had the time to 'reap' much of my results as I still have a long haul in front of me. But from where I stand, with the support of family, friends, and mentors, I have done an adequate job of keeping myself on the path.
I am extremely invested in my future and this is why I chose to enroll in an early college program, I wanted to grow and learn skills that will help me succeed in any of my endeavors. With this, I also wanted to continue my athletic endeavors. Although this responsibility would add more to my plate I feel I needed to involve myself in softball because it is something that I have always enjoyed doing, but more importantly, it has equipped me with numerous skills that are applicable on and off the field. The sport itself has molded me into a supportive team player who quickly adapts to situations and puts forth the best effort to make every play better than the last. Softball being a team sport means to not only better myself, but to better the team with communication and support. These valuable skills have been tried and tested in my other fields of interest, such as computer programming, and have done nothing but made me a better person and catalyzed my growth. This sport has been extremely generous and I wish nothing but to further my growth with it on a higher level.
