My journey with softball began with a question to my dad, “I want to try softball, will you help me?” With the purchase of a children’s bat and ball to “test my skills.” It was the spark of a brighter future. Because of softball I am learning who I am and who I can become. Softball has caused me to a leader and a motivator for my peers.
Eagerness and determination drove me to learn and fall in love with the game of softball . In the course of two seasons, with guidance from camps and private lessons, I have grown to be a team player and take on a leadership role. I encourage my team to work harder and demonstrate greater effort in order to create a more enjoyable ball game for us all.
I’ve had a taste of what it’s like to be on a team and the challenges that comes with being a student athlete. I’ve been strengthened as a result and continue to learn discipline and hope that I can carry these gifts into my adult life as I continue on my path by competing on a college level.Along with softball, my hunger to be challenged academically is very important. I plan to follow a career of social psychology and become a family and Marital counselor to help people beyond the field.
