Elizabeth Kuczek '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kuczek. I became interested in softball when I was 8 because my friends were all on the same team and I wanted to spend time with them. Softball quickly became more than a social activity; I was already an athlete and very competitive. I learned that I love softball and the associated team dynamic where everyone is working together towards a common goal but each player has a unique role (or two) that they have to master.  I enjoy pushing myself to improve in both the physical and mental challenges associated with the game. I would love to find a college with a strong academic tradition where I can also learn from and contribute to the softball program. I enjoy challenging myself to become better whether it be in the weight room, on the field, or in the classroom.  I am a competitive person and until recently also played goalie in club and school soccer and participated in basketball. 

Outside of softball, I am a straight A student in all honors classes. I attend Olentangy's STEM Academy as part of my academic program. This past year, I also played baritone in marching and concert band and am working towards a leadership position in band and will be participating in Jazz Band(as a trombone player) next fall. Additionally, I have been involved in Girl Scouts since 3rd grade. Through Girl Scouts, I have learned leadership skills and the importance of community service. I continue with Girl Scouts, because I enjoy giving back to the community, volunteering with my friends, and even earned my Bronze Award.  When I have free time, I love spending time outside with my family and friends hiking, camping, and enjoying water sports.
