Personal Statement

I love the game.  I am passionate about playing and love being on the court and in the gym with my second family. And I love it when my team comes together for great wins.  My coaches have taught me to have a great technical understanding of the game.  I can read the other team and direct traffic on our side of the court. I am always coachable and able to take feedback and continue to improve.

I've grown up in club volleyball since I was 9. I have always played at Mintonette in Columbus, Ohio.  This  year we are ranked he 11th club in the country  I was captain of my team last year and my coach said it it is because I inspire my teammates to work harder. I was again voted to be team captain by my teammates again this year, which I am very proud of and will do my best to be a leader, motivator and friend to all of my teammates.   I am a DS, but last year played all around, rarely coming off the court.  This year, I am doing some all around, but mostly DS. I leave everything I have to give on the court whether it be at practice or in a game.  I do the same in the classroom.  I ended my 8th grade year last year with a 3.92.  And I am doing the same so far as a freshman.  I am only 14, but believe I want to go into the medical field as an anesthesiologist.

I was named to all tournament team at the St. Louis Nike President’s Day Classic last year.

I have had 3 USAV appearances in a row...  in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Coming in 11th place, 3rd place and this year winning the bronze bracket.  I am healthy with no injuries and I am not going to be done playing this game and improving in 3 years-- I think I have a lot I can bring to a college team and I would love to be a part of team that I can grow with.  I think being a part of a college team while going to college is right for me.

  • I am captain for our team for the second year in a row. While i am on the 3s team. Mintonette's 15 year old teams are the best around. The team I am is evenly matched with the 52s and we beat them ata qualifier last year and are evenly matched at practices. My team continually shows at tournaments we are can beat other clubs' 1s teams. As they say it is all relative and the training we get at Mintonette is the best.

Academic Accomplishments

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. I only took one this freshmen year, Honors science and will take honor biology as a sophomores. I was recommended for more by my middle school teachers, but wanted to get a better understanding of high school before I over committed to what I could handle going from middle school to high school. It was recommended that we only do one our freshmen year until we get a better feel for the school. Olentangy liberty is ranked the 8th best high school in Ohio and 282 in the country.
