Personal Statement

Hi, I'm Caitlin Colley. I play 3rd base for the 17u Whitby Eagles. Last year, as a 15u team, we won the 16u provincial championship in Ontario, Canada.  I am passionate about becoming the absolute best softball player I can be, and pursuing this game to the highest level possible.

As a student, I am a leader in my classroom, who advocates for herself. I have a 4.0 GPA and an average over 90%.

As a softball player, I work on my craft everyday. I love all aspects of the game so much. I don't just love playing, I love practicing, setting goals to attain, and I love improving! More importantly, I love all of the hard work that comes with this. I love to hit. I love hitting in all situations, and absolutely love working on my craft. I am fortunate enough to have both a tee and net in my garage and a batting cage in my backyard, so that I can constantly  improve my swing and build my power and precision. Defensively, I love perfecting my defensive techniques through drills and repetition daily (either at softball facilities, on the field, or in my basement). I also love working on my arm, either through playing catch, long toss, or through using the plyo wall that we've recently added to our garage.

I believe that being an elite athlete also includes being passionate about becoming bigger and stronger. I love to work out. I love it because I know that it will help me to become better at softball.  I am fortunate enough to have a gym in my basement so that I can always get stronger during the off season and keep myself toned in season

Finally, I am a leader on my team. I love helping teammates and leading anyway possible, but I also love learning from my teammates as well. Most importantly, I always want what's best for my team, and am so excited to find the right fit for me to pursue my softball and academic dreams.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
