Kelsie Delap '19 Recruiting Profile

I’ve been playing softball since I was 8 years old.  Through middle school I participated in multiple sports, volleyball, basketball and track, but softball has always been my true love.  In high school I am focusing on grades, softball and preparing for college.

I’m 5’-11” tall, strong and athletic.  I’m proud of my presence on the mound, not getting rattled and having the ability to get ahead in the count or help the team out of tough situations.  My positive attitude rubs off on my teammates and I am a leader on the field, in the dugout and at practice.

Besides pitching I’m a versatile utility player, capable at all infield (except catcher) and outfield positions.  I’m very comfortable at 1st and 2nd, and continuing to develop my skills at 3rd and Shortstop. 

I also have a strong bat (my first over the fence home run was at the age of 12).  My coaches rely on my power and consistency, typically batting me in the middle of the order (3, 4, or 5).

I want to find a college that fits me, location and size do not matter.  My goal is to play college softball and get a good education.  Undergraduate studies will likely be in biological/physical sciences, with the ultimate goal of attending postgraduate school (i.e. physical therapy, veterinary, etc.).
