Dear Coach,
My name is Adhya (Ady) Lagisetty, and I'm a class of 2022 from Allen, Texas. I began playing volleyball about six years ago. But last summer I tried rowing and since then I discovered my passion for Rowing. Currently, I am part of the girl’s Varsity team at Dallas United Crew, Dallas, TX. My goal is to row crew for a college that excels in academic education so that I can continue enjoying rowing while getting the training from an institution that thrives in academic excellence. Rowing allowed me to experience the ups and downs, trained me to have mental and physical perseverance to get back and do my best. Whether our team wins or loses, I always strive to conduct honorably and, most importantly, be part of the team and contribute to winning. While it took away some time from school and academics, the moments, friendships, the team camaraderie, and the real-life experiences will last forever and have tremendously contributed to shaping my personality.
I know to be successful in school, sports, and life, we need to make certain sacrifices to realize our ambitions. Whether it is pushing a little harder in practice or putting in that extra hour of studying at the library, being a student-athlete has helped me learn how to prioritize my goals in order to achieve those that are most important to me. I believe I would be a great asset to your program.
Best
Ady
