I have been playing basketball since I was in 6th grade. When I first picked up the ball, I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level. During my freshman year, one of my goals was to make the varsity team but I ended up making the JV team. Though I didn't meet my goal as a freshman, that didn't stop me to get better and prove that I can make it the following year. Every day, I worked as hard as I can as I improved my ball-handling skills, shooting, passing, different kinds of finishes, and my basketball IQ. When sophomore year came around, I made it onto the varsity team which had ten seniors at the time. As a sophomore, I was a starter and helped my team win the York Thanksgiving Tournament. As junior year approached, it was my time to step up as those ten seniors had graduated. I became a team captain and leader who led by example and encouraged my teammates every time off and on the court. I received team MVP at the end of the season as well as being recognized by the IHSA and CSL as a scholar athlete. I am also the number one three-point shooter in my area and conference. Off the court, I maintain my GPA of 3.8 and study hard to keep up my grades. I am involved in extracurricular activities such as Dance Marathon, Filipino Club, and HOSA. When looking for a college, I want to attend a school where they push my abilities in the classroom and on the court. As of now, I am open to all options but most importantly, I am looking for a school that is the best fit for me academically and offers a high level of competition athletically.
