My goal in college is to grow as a person and make connections with people to not only allow myself to succeed, but to allow the ones around me to learn and grow too. I enjoy the sport of basketball a lot but my main focus was always to better my team, I was always unselfish because I knew if I didn't have a team or a family behind me I wouldn't have gotten anywhere. I want to study in media arts because it helps me keep balanced and focused. When I'm not playing or practicing basketball I'm writing music or going for walks to see what type of photos I can capture. What makes me a good candidate for this team is that I'm coachable. I respect what my coach is saying and if I disagree with something I simply ask for it to be explained so I can better understand why certain things work best for the team. I'm a team player, my team comes before anything whether or not it's on or off the court, if I have an issue with a player or there is an issue with other players I would want to address it and try to fix it. If my team doesn't improve it would be difficult for me to improve, I prefer teams where I'm not the best player because I don't know everything and if I'm playing with others who may not view the game the way I do or have the same or even more passion than me it could be difficult. As a freshman I would learn as much as I can from the older girls, like seniors. When I become a senior I will the same for another freshman. What makes me different is my ability to understand teammates and be able to socialize or start up conversation with the people I meet. If a teammate isn't playing well the first reaction would to yell or try and correct them but before that I would try to talk to them and see if a different issue could be bothering them, we aren't just teammates we are family so we need to help each other, that would also show how much trust we have or build between all of us no matter how close we are or aren't. I like to socialize and start conversations, I'm really goofy in general and try to stay lighthearted, you never know who you are going to meet so by passing up a conversation or an event, you could be missing something great. It's the same thing in school, if I don't like the subject i'm still present both mentally and physically, even if I don't need the information in the future it's better to be able to have the knowledge and decide what I want to do with it other then not having it and having to figure out what to do with the little knowledge I have, I'm very active in my classes and do my best to keep my grades high.
