I love to play basketball. I have been playing since the 5th grade. I am currently enrolled in the Institute of Law & Politics at Susan E. Wagner High School, Staten Island, NY and I graduate in 2016. As a first year Varsity Starter, I have had a great High School season. I played 23 games, scored 566 points (24.6ppg), have hit 42-3 pointers and have 136 out of 176 foul shots(77%). I also have had a double-double 21 out of 23 games. As of today, I am the lead scorer on Staten Island out of all High Schools and 5th place in top scorers in the PSAL (in the entire NYC area). I am extremely proud to say that my team has gone on to reach the play-offs this year because of me (something that had not been accomplished in over 12 years)! My goal for next season is to become the first player on Staten Island to reach 1000 points in just two years and to help bring my team to win a State Championship! Last year, I was the MVP on my Junior Varsity team with the Moore Mavericks. In 25 games, I've scored 372 pts. Our record was 20-5 and I averaged 15 points per game, including 10-15 rebounds per game and had 42 three point shots. I can post up against any opponent, I can handle the ball and I can drive to the basket, stop and pop and create fouls to get myself to the line. My foul shooting is around 75%. I once hit 72 shots out of 100 from NBA 3 point distance with my personal trainer Rocky Ferrante. My dreams are to play for a Division 1 top college. I plan on maintaining my high GPA while in High School. I also want to go on and play basketball on a full athletic scholarship and maintain my high GPA throughout college. I would also love to hopefully play professional women's basketball and be a part of the USA women's basketball team in the Olympics. I'm a great team player and I'm eager to learn from any college basketball coach. After my basketball career is over I would love to work in the field that I decide to study while in college (at this time my major is undecided). Regardless of how I enter college, I will give both my school and myself 100% all of the time.
Thank you, Sabrina K. Friscia
