Hello! My name is Nicole Miller and I have loved basketball since I was a preschooler. I am now a 2025 high school graduate candidate from Amherst NY, a suburb outside of Buffalo. Although my primary position is Point Guard, I also play Shooting Guard. I was team captain and starting Point Guard on my Amherst high school Varsity team for both freshman and sophomore years. I changed schools this year as a junior to Williamsville South high school where I am still a starter and captain. Since I was new to the school, I was not immediately eligible to be a captain. But about midway through the season, my new coaches determined that I displayed the leadership qualities of a team captain and appointed me as such. My team finished this years divisional play tied for first place. Since freshman year, I have been a top performer on all my school and AAU teams. All this has helped make me a natural leader, along with my personal attributes. I have been a leader of both my school varsity teams and my AAU teams in all aspects, as my teammates look to me for leadership, guidance and direction. As one of seven children, I have grown up living and practicing teamwork and collaboration every day.
I am a member of National Honor Society with a 3.7 weighted GPA, and have taken some Honors level classes each year since 8th grade, all while playing multiple school and travel sports. Of all the sports I've played, basketball is my greatest passion. The reason I aspire to play basketball in college is a love of the game and high intensity competition. I have been recognized regionally in both the Buffalo News newspaper as 2nd Team All Western New York Basketball Honor Roll, 1st Team All Conference and Honorable Mention in the Bee Group newspapers covering Western New York. I was also chosen for the Basketball Coaches of New York (BCANY) awards All Section (section 6) large school team and All Academic player.
I would love to attend a college where I can receive a high quality education, with learning and growth of the whole person, to ultimately be successful in life after college. At the same time, I would love the privilege of playing competitive basketball at that institution. I am looking mostly in the North East and Eastern Mid West, but am not limited to those areas. I am open to schools of all sizes. I would be grateful and happy to consider any options that would allow me a quality education and the ability to contribute to a competitive basketball program.
Thank you!
