Over the course of high school, I have had 4 leg surgeries due my condition of miserable malalignment syndrome. My first 2 surgeries recovery was about a year. The next 2 surgeries was only about a 3 month recovery. I continued to play sports throughout the duration of my recovery, and I was unable to play basketball to my full potential until my senior season. I have faced more adversity than I ever expected, but I am very resilient now because of it. The determination I had to continue playing the game I love helped me develop into a strong a leader on my high school team where I earned the role of team captain my sophomore and senior seasons. My academics continued to stay strong while I was enduring numerous surgeries. I have taken numerous AP courses and have been on all A honor roll every year. I know how to be a good leader, teammate, and player. My decision making skills are my biggest strength in all fields of my life, especially on the basketball court. My goal in life is to make a positive impact on others around me while doing what I love.
