As a young athlete my goals for sports is to learn and improve skills everyday. If that means going to a court and getting shots up, or working on new moves to get to the hoop. Going to a gym, lifting weights, running and watching film of my opponent are other ways I try to better myself as an athlete. I started playing basketball in the 5th grade, the moment I stepped on the court and the game started I knew it was destiny. With every season that came by I grew to love the game more and more. Now I never see the reason to take a break from the game I love and want to play for as long as possible. The only way to continue playing basketball after high school is if i continue to put in hard work and dedication to the game every moment I am available too. My family has and will always be my biggest support system when it comes to basketball and anything that I may encounter throughout my life and that is a huge factor on how I play and who I am as a person today. With every game win or lose I always take a look at myself and my game play, to improve on what i can do better as a individual or my team. I believe i am my toughest critic and can always improve as a player.
Academically I try very hard in school and focus on getting good grades and keeping up with all my homework. I averaged a 3.8 GPA at the end of my freshman year, but going through the rest of high school I will strive to end every school year with a 4.0. My Junior year when eligible to a take my ACT my goal is to score no lower than 24 while working hard to get a 26 or 28. During college I will still strive to keep up the best grades and put in all the same efforts that I do now in high school. The dedication I put into my school work is the same self-motivated, hardworking dedication I put into the game of basketball and on the court. Nothing comes easy in life and you have to fight through all the blood sweat and tears that come along with being an determined and motivated athlete. "I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come in." -Micheal Jordan
