As a kid growing up, I have always played multiple sports including basketball, volleyball, and softball. My love for sports in general has taught me teamwork and dedication all throughout my life. While basketball is the sport I have chosen to focus on, all the skills I have learned from the others will never go away.
Basketball has changed my life in ways I never would have imagined. It has taught me how to work with others and to want my teammates’ success more than my own. This upcoming year I will be a freshman on varsity at Denton Guyer Highschool. I am excited to become a leader, and role player on the court. Meeting my new team is one of the best things that has happened, and I can’t wait to continue this process.
Outside of school I play for Lee Green Basketball and this will be my 3rd year playing for him. We have competed in tournaments such as The Heart of Texas and The Clash of the Clubs. I play as a 14 year old on a 16u team. My hard work has made me achieve things I always wanted but didn’t know would be possible. For example, being a freshman on varsity at a 6A school.
What would make me an asset to your team is my ability to find my open teammate and get them the ball. I bring energy to the court and am valuable not only on offense, but also on defense.
I will continue my work ethic all throughout my career and that goes for academics as well. I wish to go into college to get my degree in business. I believe the honors classes that I have been taking will prepare me to be successful in college and ready to balance my academics and athletic career.
