I’ve been gifted with height and play the power and small forward positions. While my height gives me many advantages in the post, I’ve worked hard to develop my ball-handling and shooting abilities. This gives me versatility which is perhaps my greatest strength. I can play out and handle the ball or I can post up. If a defender plays off the ball, I can shoot 3s and have a strong jump shot. If they play me too close, I can drive. Additionally, I can use my strong outside shot to draw out my defender, opening the lane for my team to drive in. I’m a strong two-way player contributing on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court. My large wingspan allows me to shoot over smaller players as well as block, rebound, and cover a large area defensively. I hit a personal high of 10 blocks in one game this season.
I play for a nationally ranked high school varsity team and have played AAU club basketball for the past 4 years. I’ve been blessed to be part of solid basketball programs. This has allowed me to surround myself with players and coaches that challenge me and help take my game to the next level.
I am working hard daily to build muscle mass this year, particularly as my high school team will need me to be battling with centers next season. I am inspired by basketball greats, such as David Robinson, who didn't reach their full potential early because they were expending so much energy gaining height throughout high school. Similarly, I have gained 2 inches in height during this past year alone! As my vertical growth is starting to slow, I am seeing significant gains in my size and strength and am very excited about my basketball future.
My competitive spirit and drive apply equally to academics. I maintain a 99/100 GPA, and will have completed 10 AP courses by the end of my junior year, with plans to take 5 more AP classes as a senior. I have passed all of my AP tests with high scores. In 2019, I was fortunate to study in a summer intensive Law and Trial program at Stanford. I am active with the Texas State Junior Classical League and earned Summa Cum Laude at our state Latin convention.
As a scholar-athlete, I’m looking for a college with a competitive basketball program and exceptional academics. I love basketball and am excited to compete at the college level, but don’t want to sacrifice academics to play. My goal is to find a school where I can blend my passion for basketball with my academic pursuits. If you think I’d be a fit for your program, I’d love to talk!
