I am currently a sophomore in high school, and my goal is to play college basketball. I am a hard worker and put a lot of effort in everything I do, especially things that are important to me like my athletic and academic achievement. It is important to me to maintain a high grade point average. I work hard to keep my grades up, while being a three sport athlete. It is one of my top priorities, and I want to maintain above a 3.6 GPA.
Being a three sport athlete-basketball, volleyball and track and field- helps me with my endurance and quick movements on the court. So many skills from one sport to the others are transferable, and the skills I use and learn in one sport make be better at the others. After practice, I am in the weight room lifting weights so I can reach my full potential as an athlete so I can be as strong and fast as possible, and also to avoid injuries. Everyday, I am in the gym shooting. I make sure I get in at least 100 shots a day.
I love to learn new skills and techniques and try to master the ones I have already been taught. I enjoy taking the things I have learned and my skills to help coach and teach younger players, particularly in basketball. One of my best skills in both basketball is scanning the court. As a point guard, it is important for me to read the defense and navigate the court to help set up my team to score.
