Mason Godbold '22 Recruiting Profile

I would like to attend a unversity and obtain a degree in Communications studies. My dream is to own my own spa one day, so after earning my BA, I would like to attend Cosmetology school. I'm a great candidate for a beach volleyball team because I've grown up on a volleyball court. We've had a personal court in our backyard since I was 8 years old and my parents run Eastside Volleyball, a beach and indoor travel club. I play both indoor and beach, but my passion is beach. 

Last year, I was ranked the #1 14u player in North Carolina on the Volley America (Now AVP America) circuit, ranked #36 in the National Rankings. I play both junior and adult tournaments, even winning a few adult tournaments.

In indoor, I've always played setter, but this year my team needed more help on the backrow, so I am playing the position of Libero. I have a great serving strategy from playing beach. This past weekend, I served 11 in a row because each serve was varied from the one before, so the opposing team could not figure me out.
