I have been playing volleyball for 5 years now starting the summer I went into middle school. From the time I began playing until now, I've had a strong passion for it and work hard every day to make myself a better player. On and off the court I consider myself to be a leader by being positive, encouraging my teammates and by setting them up for success on the court. Beginning my volleyball journey I played indoor but soon ventured into beach volleyball where I realized my true affinity for beach. I love the independence you have playing beach and the ability to work with a partner who wants to win as much as I want too. I also love the environment of being outside and the camaraderie of beach since you get to work and play so closely with many teams throughout the day. My primary position has been setter but for the last 3 years in indoor I have been playing all the way around at setting and opposite. I love setting in indoor because I get to make decisions for my team to be successful and get to touch the ball most plays. This also relates to why I like beach because I get so much involvement every play. My passing and serving is also very good and I attribute my skills all the way around at playing so much beach. Beach has made me a much better indoor player. I hope to transition to beach full time in the next year or so as my ultimate goal is to commit to a beach volleyball program where I can play the sport I love and as importantly get a great education!
